Program Policies & Expectations

Clear expectations support safe, consistent care.

Tiny Vines Nursery uses clear and consistent policies to protect children’s safety, support families, and keep a small home-based program running smoothly.

This page highlights the policies families ask about most and provides access to the full policy library. The Parent Handbook & Program Policies remains the complete governing policy document.

Policies at a Glance

Tuition & Payment_final.png
Enrollment-Based Tuition

Ongoing tuition reserves your child’s scheduled space and is based on enrollment, not attendance. Tuition remains due for absences and most scheduled closures unless a current policy specifically provides a credit.

Arrival & Departure_final.png
Arrival & Pickup

Children attend according to their contracted schedule or confirmed drop-in booking. Early arrival, late pickup, and schedule changes require approval and may result in additional fees when applicable.

Health & Illness_final.png
Illness & Exclusion

Children must be well enough to participate comfortably without requiring care that compromises supervision or creating a significant risk of spreading illness.

Enrollment_final.png
Enrollment Before Care Begins

Care begins only after required paperwork, licensing documents, payment requirements, Brightwheel setup, and any child-specific documentation have been completed and reviewed, and written enrollment confirmation has been sent.

Sleep Practices_final.png
Safe Sleep & Rest

Infant sleep follows California licensing requirements, including back-to-sleep and a clear sleep space. Children 12 months and older participate in a quiet rest routine guided by age, safety, and developmental needs.

Behavior Guidance_final.png
Guidance & Behavior

Behavior is supported through co-regulation, calm redirection, clear boundaries, modeling, and developmentally appropriate guidance. Punitive discipline, shame, forced isolation, and corporal punishment are not used.

Communication_final.png
Brightwheel & Communication

A Brightwheel account is required beginning with the Interest Form. Brightwheel is used for enrollment paperwork, billing and payments, attendance, daily records, official notices, and routine family communication.

Meals & Feeding_final.png
Meals & Outside Food

Meals and snacks are provided based on attendance hours, developmental feeding stage, and approved dietary information. Outside food is generally limited to approved medical or special dietary needs.

Drop-In Care Policy_final.png
Drop-In Care

Drop-in enrollment allows families to request occasional care; it does not reserve recurring days or guarantee availability. Each date must be requested, approved, confirmed, and paid before it is reserved.

These highlights are provided for quick reference. Full details, exceptions, and requirements are available in the Policy Library below and in the current Parent Handbook & Program Policies.

Questions about a policy?

Families are welcome to ask question before signing enrollment documents or requesting care. Clear expectations work best when everyone understands them before care beings.
